The Garden Party

This first collage art image of five that I am sharing is one I call, The Garden Party. Featuring the new Green Ivy Bow Tie and yet to be launched Green Suspenders which are inspired by Spring, by garden parties with real china, by outdoor weddings and the lush greenery of nature.

I was delighted that Wool & Water advocate and regular customer, author Jean Weso, was up for participating in this adventure too.  He and his wife Ingrid have been so very supportive of my small business over the years. He is the perfect dapper chap to showcase the new Green Ivy Bow Tie and Green Suspenders too.

Nina of Super Collective Design, added dragonflies, teacups and teapots, peonies and lush leaves to create that vintage, curious, detail rich layer. In every design we went back and forth on the objects, the placement, the sizing. It was a fantastic, creative process and her talent has made all of these images better than I had even hoped.

Every 1 of the 5 collage art pieces has text and common themes connecting them together. I hope you enjoy discovering them as much as I enjoyed making them for you.

Do You Miss Post?

Since I was a child I have loved receiving post (or mail), an unexpected card or letter landing on the mat. The thrilling mystery of who it was from, where it was from. Opening it to discover, some news, some musings and the start of a conversation via written word. These days, of course, that happens less and less with the accessibility of technology. Now I like a Whatsapp voice note as much as the next person but am I alone in missing post?

With this in mind I decided my first way to use the five pieces of beautiful collage art imagery was to create a set of postcards and Nina helped me do this. We added detailing and quirk in the hope that upon receiving a small, handwritten note the recipient wants to keep, display and maybe even treasure the unexpected, detail rich card which, and again we hope, brings a spark of delight into their day. 

The postcards have been printed on gorgeous Tinteretto Gesso card and I will add 1-2 of the 5 designs with every new Bow Tie and/or Suspenders order until the batch runs out.
